THE METHODIST CHURCH GHANA WELCOMES AFRICA METHODIST COUNCIL (AMC)
The Methodist Church Ghana is hosting the Africa Methodist Council (AMC) at the Conference Office. A welcome service was organized at the Asbury Dunwell Chapel to host the Africa Methodist family. The service was climaxed with a Communion Service. The Africa Methodist Council met for the first time in Nairobi, Kenya and comprised of delegates from all the Wesleyan strands in Central, East, South and West Africa to forge ahead a united Africa Methodist family.
The Presiding Bishop of The Methodist Church Ghana, The Most Rev. Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo who doubles as the Vice-President of the Council, welcomed the Wesleyan family to the Conference Office.
The Service was graced with the presence of Bishops from member Countries, Bishops in Ghana, General Directors, Directors and Staff of the Conference Office. Glorious Philharmonic Choir was in attendance with their melodious selections of Methodist Hymns.
A brief exhortation was given by the Presiding Bishop of The Methodist Church Ghana, and highlighted on the importance of teamwork, unity and creating a solid foundation for the Council with Christ as the central point.
The President of AMC, Rev. Joseph Ntombura, who is also the Presiding Bishop of Methodist Church, Kenya was not only thrilled but very excited to be in Ghana with his council members for series of meetings targeting growth, unity, Christ and the Kingdom business. The General Secretary, Very Rev. Opeyemi Awe also added his voice for the warm reception and the agenda outlined for their meetings.
